In ancient Indian scriptures, there is a word called "Vairagya."
This means non-attachment, a spirit of neutrality, moderation, and acceptance, and the ability to return to the balance of yin and yang energies in all situations with equanimity.
Good and bad, praise and criticism, success and failure, joy and loss - transcend the ego that distinguishes between them and sense the one point that lies behind them.
In any situation, when you establish this vairagya awareness, you will be freed from all mental disturbances such as doubt, worry, and anxiety.
No matter how much praise or recognition you receive, or how much you gain or achieve in a tangible way, you will no longer be attached to it.
No matter what you find unpleasant, or what pain or sadness you experience, you will no longer be attached to it.
Because everything belongs to God.
It's okay to feel genuine, honest emotions, such as joy, happiness, sadness, or anger.
Vairagya is the ability to let go of attachment to those emotions after feeling them.
As a result, you will no longer cling to past glories or lament past failures.
Every moment is a meaningful process necessary for your soul's growth, an offering to God, with whom we are meant to be connected, and who brought you into this lifetime.
By learning to offer your sense of "self," your worries and burdens will gradually become lighter.
Continuing vairagya is also connected to ishvara pranidhana, which means praying to God and surrendering oneself to the divine flow.
The ego has a tendency to create something or temporarily acquire something, but then fear losing it.
It struggles and strives to obtain what it desires, but the moment it achieves it, its desire and interest in it begins to wane, and it rushes on to the next worldly desire, repeating the cycle of pain and joy.
It is completely natural and normal to have desires.
If you are reading this blog and have a high vibrational range, there is a lesson for you in this lifetime and beyond.
That lesson is to understand that whatever you experience and feel each day is an offering to the God who created you.
It is to experience the sublime flow of God, which could not be achieved through the ego.
Every desire, every shame, every joy, every loss is an offering to God.
Fun, joyful, and happy things do not last forever.
Conversely, painful, sad, and difficult things do not last forever either.
No matter what time period, wherever you are, or what you are doing, the more you practice Vairagya, the more you will realize who you are.
Why are you alive here and now?
You will begin to truly feel this within yourself.
Everything is an offering to God.
The more you serve the source of all things, the lighter your mind and body will become, your worldly desires and karma (the tasks you have completed in this lifetime) will be eliminated, you will be freed from worries, and more happiness will begin to flow into the empty space you now have.
This is happiness that you could never have imagined within the constraints of your ego.
Not clinging to that happiness, giving generously what you can, and adapting to the flow of unhesitantly receiving what you deserve is God's love itself.
You are a God incarnate, a carrier of divine abundance.
You have been worthy of abundance since the day you were born.
When you start seeing things from the perspective that everything is an offering to God, everything you see and feel will change.
The way you treat others, how you respond to someone throwing a tantrum, how you treat yourself - everything that happens in front of you now will become sacred.
You will begin to feel the immense love that created all things.
By surrendering yourself to God's sublime flow, you will be able to fully experience the blessings of being a part of that love.
As you do this, you will find that the things that happen to you will change beyond recognition.
