There is a great phrase that appears in the Yoga Sutras, a book of wisdom created by a sage who lived over 2,000 years ago:

Chitta Vritti Nirodha.

This refers to a state of complete stillness of movement and thought.

Ceasing movement is easy.

All you have to do is sit down in a chair or stop whatever you are doing.

But stilling the mind is not easy.

Even when the body is still, the mind is always busy and active, worrying, irritating, or focusing on joy and happiness.

Yes, the mind will not still unless you intentionally create an environment where it is still.

The purpose of Chitta Vritti Nirodha is to achieve a union with God that can be felt once movement and thought have ceased, a sacred thing that reminds and strengthens our connection with God.

It transcends language and cannot be put into words. This is because thoughts are already moving when they become words.

That is why, by embodying it for ourselves, we can reach this state.

Therein lies a sense of security, happiness, abundance, and the truth about who we are that is irreplaceable.

Do you make sure to set aside quiet time each day to relax and unwind?

Some people may need to take a few days to distance themselves from worldly concerns and achieve physical and mental calm.

If more people were to set aside such sacred time, negative events such as fights, wars, gossip, complaining, and bullying would disappear.

The world would become a rich, happy, and comfortable place where people can live with consideration, respect, and love for one another.

Through Chitta Vritti Nirodha, each soul remembers its connection to God and resonates with stillness. To the extent that it does so, its mind and body are purified, its vibrations raised, and it begins to move with the sublime flow of the God who created you.

As long as we're alive, our ego inevitably tends to come to the forefront.

Even the act of drinking water when we're thirsty is the work of our ego.

However, if we continue to prioritize our ego in our daily lives, all living things will never be happy.

When each of us embodies Chitta Vritti Nirodha, we can realize who we truly are.

Our hearts are purified, and we become so calm that the daily troubles of life seem ridiculous.

And as we do so, somehow, everything in our current circumstances begins to work out for us.

This is because we have attuned to the flow of God.

By surrendering to the flow, transcending the ego's thinking, we begin to carry out God's true purpose for us through us.

It's about surrendering and giving of agency and results. By serving God's higher purpose for your creation, you too can receive in abundance.

All goodness. All abundance.

Only God knows the ways, means, and destination.

Your life's needs are being met through the depths of God's grace.

To open that pathway, you must remember your union with God.

This process requires you to still your movements and thoughts and transcend your ego.

Chitta Vritti Nirodha is not simply about becoming quiet, holding back, or giving up.

Rather, it opens the pathways for giving and receiving all kinds of happiness and abundance.

If you feel unfulfilled by worldly gains or accomplishments, then this is the time to remember your union with God.

If you're feeling tired and fed up with life, then it's time to remember your union with God.

Try to step away from worldly pursuits for a moment and still your movements and thoughts.

All you need to do is relax and focus on your breathing.

Offer all your burdens to God.

Offer all your worries to God.

Just offer your current situation as it is, surrender to it, and let it guide you.

The more calm you are, the more likely you will feel God's guidance.

Your Creator knows you better than you know yourself 🍀
