Given that everyone is destined to die, why is there a need to live?
Why were we born as humans, rather than as other animals or plants?
This time, I intend to write about the ultimate question posed to those born as human beings.
Incidentally, my perspective is grounded in an understanding of—and resonance with—the teachings of the *Bhagavad Gita* and the *Yoga Sutras*, as well as the essence of other sacred texts.
The ultimate human question: Why is it necessary to live?
The answer lies in fulfilling the ultimate purpose of being born as a human: purifying latent impressions being liberated from the cycle of reincarnation, and returning to the true home of the soul.
That's all there is to it; it's very simple.
However, that explanation is far too brief, so let us delve a little deeper.
Everyone is born with latent impressions.
It's a subconscious impression of a vast amount of worldly desires accumulated from past lives.
This latent impression creates a person's aura, charm, and talent, and through the actions associated with the accumulated latent impressions of worldly desires—that is, karma—a life suitable for purifying those desires unfolds.
It is your soul—your true essence—that chooses the body and environment for this lifetime in order to fulfill this karma.
Every moment, your soul is attracting the perfect environment for its evolution and advancement within the sublime flow of the universe.
Purifying latent impressions means letting go of attachment to the results of one's actions and abandoning deeds driven by egoistic desire, in order to act in accordance with the voice of the True Self.
Whatever events unfold in your life—regardless of whether they were anticipated or not—they manifest in your reality precisely because they are suited to the evolution and elevation of your soul.
At any time, in any place, and in whatever you are doing—whether the situation is favorable or unfavorable—what occurs in each moment is optimal for your soul's growth.
Therefore, you are called upon to accept whatever happens and to perform your actions wholeheartedly, rather than doing them reluctantly.
By doing so, latent impressions are purified, and you fulfill the karma with which you were born.
If you perform actions reluctantly or act with the expectation of a reward driven by egoistic desire regarding the events in your life, you merely accumulate further latent impressions born of worldly attachments.
However, if you let go of egoistic desire and—with a pure heart—carry out what you ought to do without fixating on the outcome, your latent impressions will be purified.
As latent impressions are purified, one is no longer driven by actions born of worldly desires, and the True Self awakens.
The awakening of the True Self signifies union with the flow of the universe; ultimately, this allows one to transcend the cycle of reincarnation.
Such actions are only possible for humans.
Unlike other animals—whose behaviors are driven by territorial disputes, the acquisition and hoarding of food, and procreation—humans possess a developed neocortex.
This is precisely what makes us human.
To be born as a human is not merely to pursue selfish desires; rather, it is to serve the universe as a whole by fulfilling the unique purpose of one's own life within the sublime cosmic flow—thereby evolving the soul, purifying latent impressions, and truly fulfilling one's role as a human being.
This is the answer to the questions: "Why was I born as a human?" and "Why must we live, even though everyone is destined to die?"
It is a truth that has been handed down to the present day—expressed in various ways across different eras and cultures—in the scriptures left behind by sages who have sought the universal truth for centuries.
The ultimate task for those born as human beings—purifying subconscious impressions and returning to fundamental reality—is the very teaching to fulfill one's innate destiny without being deceived by impermanent phenomena.
There is meaning in the fact that you were born into this life and are living in the present moment.
It is not only meaningful and valuable for the entire universe, but you are alive because it is the optimal means to purify the latent impressions you have accumulated throughout your life and to evolve and improve your soul.
Therefore, there is no need to agonize by comparing your life to others', nor is there any reason to envy the lives of other people.
Because, From the perspective of a higher-dimensional being that even constitutes the universe, the worries of this worldly, impermanent realm are utterly insignificant.
When you transcend duality, anchor yourself in a sense of fundamental equality, and realize the truth that lies beyond the visible, the worries you currently harbor will be resolved at their very root.
Any trouble in this world can be resolved through the truth mentioned above.
The reason our troubles never cease is simply that we remain immersed in a life of hedonism, constantly gratifying our senses, competing with the egos of others to establish superiority, and turning a blind eye to death—treating it as something that concerns only other people.
Furthermore, we suffer because we fail to realize that the Source—the higher-dimensional existence underpinning all things and the true home of the soul—is none other than our own self, and we do not grasp the ultimate interconnectedness of all existence.
Human beings are not kept alive to pursue their own selfish desires, but rather, they are kept alive by a supreme being that governs the very foundation of the universe, in order to purify their subconscious and fulfill their responsibilities as true human beings, not mere animalistic creatures.
If humanity fails to perform its essential task, the exquisite balance of the natural world will collapse, and a forced readjustment of all things will inevitably follow.
Before that happens, it is crucial that we live in a way that prioritizes the purification of our latent impressions over the pursuit of selfish desires, thereby fulfilling our true purpose.
Since every individual possesses a unique set of innate latent impressions, not everyone is capable of grasping this truth.
However, the fact that you have encountered this blog signifies that your soul has reached a level where it is ready to undertake the task of purifying those latent impressions.
You exist within a realm of sacred vibration now.
Having gone through thousands of reincarnations, your soul is now about to fulfill its ultimate human duty: purifying its subconscious.
This is the signal that everything is ready.
