The world is overflowing with things that gratify the sensory organs.
Everyone engages in some form of activity every day, and the means to satisfy self-interest are diverse and limitless.
Whether intentional or unconscious, our actions are driven by underlying impressions based on desires or innate underlying impressions.
In short, one cannot attain true peace simply by constantly indulging the senses to satisfy selfish desires or by pitting one's ego against others to establish superiority.
Some people experience anxiety and conflict until they acquire what they desire, becoming ecstatic when their desires are fulfilled and grieving when they are not.
Others, even after acquiring what they desire, focus on further lack and fear the loss of what they have obtained through selfish desires or changes in their environment.
Still others, even after acquiring something, find their hearts only briefly filled with satisfaction, quickly becoming bored or losing interest.
And no matter what they acquire or experience that satisfies their senses, they continue to suffer from the existential pain of birth, aging, sickness, and death, and are left with a vague anxiety because they do not know how to resolve it.
The reason these individuals are plagued by ceaseless suffering is that they have failed to discover a Spiritual light within themselves.
Everything that manifests in this world is impermanent.
It is the nature of all things to arise, change, and pass away fleetingly within the sublime flow of the universe.
The fact that constant change is the norm implies that nothing which satisfies our worldly senses—nor even worldly benchmarks such as price, rarity, or value—can serve as a true anchor.
Your true anchor lies within yourself.
The sublime, higher-dimensional being that created you and sustains your life in this very moment supports the foundation of all things—and supports you, too.
Radiating a brilliant light, that presence dwells within the composite of your mind and body as your very self.
When you realize this, the Spiritual light of true happiness and true peace, which can never be obtained by the superficial things that fill the senses of this world, shines brightly in full.
In other words, the ego weakens, and the true self, the soul, awakens.
It means your true nature emerges, enabling you to fulfill your divine mission rather than being driven by the desires of the ego.
